“Boeing's accidental MD-95.”

NO PHOTO
When Boeing acquired McDonnell Douglas in 1997, the MD-95 was already on the line — so they renamed it the 717 and shipped 156 of them. Twin Rolls-Royce engines mounted on the rear, T-tail, the unmistakable MD-80-family silhouette. Delta still flies the largest fleet.
Fun fact
The 717 was the last commercial aircraft built at the Long Beach plant where Douglas had been making airliners since 1942.
One might be overhead right now.
