China's primary training aircraft from the 1960s to the 1990s — radial engine, tandem cockpit, the looks of a Yak with a beard. Hundreds were imported into the U.S. as surplus, becoming weekend toys for pilots who wanted real warbird character without P-51 prices.

Fun fact

A flying CJ-6 in the U.S. typically sells for less than a new Cessna 172 — making it one of the most affordable warbirds you can actually buy.
